Francis D. K. Ching (Honolulu, 1943) es un arquitecto, profesor y autor estadounidense ampliamente reconocido por su labor en la enseñanza del diseño arquitectónico y la representación gráfica. Tras obtener su título en Arquitectura por la Universidad de Notre Dame en 1966, ejerció profesionalmente antes de iniciar su carrera docente en la Ohio University en 1972. Posteriormente, se incorporó a la Universidad de Washington, donde se desempeñó como profesor y actualmente es profesor emérito del College of Built Environments.

Su obra más influyente es Arquitectura. Forma, espacio y orden, una introducción clásica a los principios del diseño arquitectónico. Otros títulos destacados incluyen Manual de dibujo arquitectónico (Architectural Graphics, 1975), Manual de estructuras ilustrado (Building Structures Illustrated, 2009), Diccionario visual de arquitectura (A Visual Dictionary of Architecture, 1995) y Una historia universal de la arquitectura (A Global History of Architecture, 2007), esta última en coautoría con Mark M. Jarzombek y Vikramaditya Prakash .
