A patient's analgesic future will pass and the door to pain relief will close when acute pain that is not properly diagnosed and treated in a timely fashion becomes chronic which can potentially condemn a patient to a lifetime of Hell. Medical providers must therefore, be aggressive in the diagnosis and treatment of acute pain to prevent it from becoming chronic in order to "close the door" from acute to chronic pain. This book discusses pain physiology as well as acute and chronic pain syndromes and their treatment modalities and is written for medical personnel, attorneys, patients, claims adjusters and others who have an interest in pain management. This book also includes a chapter on nutrition, a topic which is becoming important in the management of pain in general and may be instrumental in eventually treating acute pain and preventing chronic pain.
