$ 1.140In this imaginative adventure, a young boy named Maurice suddenly finds himself in a world of excitement when he discovers an unknown valley filled with glowing sheep and a shepherd as tall as the sky who plays a harp while the sheep dance.
Maurice vows to capture one of the glowing sheep, but an invisible wall that he can't seem to cross prevents him. He decides to ask Ole' Amos for help. Ole' Amos saw the shepherd and the sheep years earlier and had been trying ever since to duplicate the magic. Finding no help with Ole' Amos Maurice runs home to tell his mother, but she is too busy to help much with such fantastic tales. Finally, he turns to his friend Johnny, and together they make their way back to the unknown valley. Maurice meets the shepherd, Jesus, and now he has a choice to make. It is then that the shepherd helps Maurice understand that choices matter. One way is to walk in the light, and the other is to walk in darkness. There are only two choices.
The Dancing Shepherd is perfect for independent reading or for shared reading at home. The "Something for You to Think About" questions at the end of the book are helpful for stirring young minds to be more thoughtful and caring. It is the author's hope to inspire a relationship of love with The True Shepherd, Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Giver of All Life.
Twenty beautiful, full-color illustrations help bring this exciting story to life.
