Juan José Saer (Santa Fe, 1937 - París, 2005) es uno de los escritores imprescindibles de la literatura argentina y una referencia clave para nuevas generaciones de lectores. Su obra, considerada a la altura de Borges, Beckett y Bernhard, abarca novelas, cuentos, ensayos y poesía.
Ambientados en el Litoral santafesino, sus novelas y relatos construyen un universo literario en el que los personajes y sus historias se entrelazan y reaparecen en distintos textos.
Radicado en Francia desde 1968, fue profesor en la Universidad de Rennes. Entre los reconocimientos que recibió destacan el Premio Nadal (1987) por La ocasión, el France Culture (2003) y el Unione Latina di Letterature Romanze (2004). Su legado sigue vigente y su obra, traducida a más de veinte idiomas, se ha consolidado como una lectura esencial dentro y fuera del ámbito hispanohablante.
