Sleeping Bear is a sleepy community of under two thousand residents nestled in the Texas panhandle, forty miles south of Amarillo. Like all small towns, news travels fast from mouth to mouth. This is a tale of what happens from the eve of the Bi-District game, when a mysterious tramp with no last name crosses the Kodiak county line after walking all the way from Arkansas, to the State Finals. A rude awakening occurs when the transient reveals his purpose for making the six hundred mile trek on foot. Long-buried secrets are resurrected, incest is exposed, and treacherous betrayal unwittingly invites death.
