Set in Chicago, Detective Richard Warren received sobering and disturbing news one January day in 2011; that he was diagnosed with cancer and has only six months to live. Meanwhile, a simple family man named Larry Johnson who works at a rental car store discovers the serial killer coming in to rent cars every month. In a chilling moment of heroism, Larry Johnson realizes there is more than meets the eye with this man and makes the decision to do a little digging to see what this man is up to. This takes place juxtaposed with the killer himself tracking his next victims and trying to come to terms with his sense of right and wrong in the face of God. It's a race against time, mystery of circumstance, and the story of a man struggling to balance loss, love, impending death, and a manhunt for the most prolific serial killer of women of all time.
