A Message to Garcia has become one of the most popular stories in the world. Following Lt. Col. Andrew S. Rowan's incredible mission to carry a secret message to Cuban General Calixto Garcia at the start of the Spanish-American war in 1898, Elbert Hubbard wrote an essay about Rowan's adventure into Cuba, looking for Garcia. Hubbard's original book is reproduced in an exact facsimile in this volume as well as Rowan's 1898 magazine article and 1922 book retelling of his journey. It's a wonderful story extolling the virtues of initiative, perseverance, and duty.
