John Eldredge es autor, consejero y maestro. También es presidente de Ransomed Heart, un ministerio dedicado a ayudar a las personas a descubrir el corazón de Dios, recuperar sus propios corazones y aprender a vivir en el Reino de Dios. John creció en los suburbios de Los Ángeles y pasó los veranos de su niñez en el rancho de ganado de su abuelo en el este de Oregón.

Conoció a su esposa, Stasi, en la escuela secundaria (en la clase de teatro). Pero su romance no comenzó hasta que ambos llegaron a la fe en Cristo, después de la escuela secundaria.
