It is a vital scholarly work that traces the profound influence of Deccan's centuries-old Urdu literary tradition, enriching our understanding of its development./اردو زبان کی ادبی تاریخ قدیم دکنی ادب کے تذکرے کے بغیر مکمل نہیں کہلائی جا سکتی۔ اردو زبان میں چار پانچ سو سال پہلے 'سب رس' اور 'قطب مشتری' جیسی اعلی درجہ کی نظم و نثر لکھی گئی ہے۔ متعدد ادیبوں اور محققین نے دکنی ادب کی تاریخ پر توجہ دیتے ہوئے اس کے گوناگوں گوشوں کو اجاگر کیا ہے۔ دکن کی چھ سو سالہ قدیم آبادیوں کے گھریلو کتب خانوں کی کتابوں کے منظر عام پر آنے کے بعد سے اردو ادب کی دکنی تاریخ سے متعلق مختلف معیار و مزاج کی کتابیں شائع ہونے لگی ہیں۔ یہ کتاب بھی دکن کے نامور محقق محی الدین قادری زور کی تحقیقی کاوش ہے جس میں انہوں نے 1350ء سے 1750ء تک کے اردو زبان کے قدیم مراکز جیسے گلبرگہ، بیدر، بیجاپور، گولکنڈہ، حیدرآباد اور اورنگ آباد کے شاعروں اور ادیبوں کی اردو خدمات کا تفصیلی تذکرہ پیش کیا ہے۔
