Life is Short, life is Good, Life is precious But Life without love, action and laugher, is not worth a dime For this reason, wisely thinking, the ancient Greeks and other people, in their times, had included in their theology, Gods or Goddesses, who were impersonating or protecting, Love and the Laugher. -Aphrodite, Dionysus, Pan, Gelos, - were the respective Gods in Ancient Greece. Gelos, a minor Deity, is probably the least known, but it was worshiped, by most Greeks, especially the Lacedaemonians. The legendary King and lawgiver of Sparta, Lycurgus (900-800 BC), amongst other reforms, ordered, so the statue, or paintings of the god Gelos (the god of laugher), be placed, at all restaurants and many public places, at very well- seeing points. The purpose is obvious. The Spartans, during all their life, were going through, a continuous and severe training, on one hand and austerity on the other. He thought that, at least, they deserved, to be happy and enjoy, during the time of their relaxation and other social activities. The author in this book presents, various hilarious happenings, in the small societies of the Greek Villages, during the 19th and 20th centuries, in a form of interaction, or a play. The purpose is to show how accidental events or misunderstanding, due to illiteracy, ignorance or naivety, were generating, unexpected actions, that were. at the end, leading to funny, but happy ends.
