English summary: In 2010 a conference of Theological Faculties from Central and Eastern Europe and the Netherlands was held in Apeldoorn (NL), in which the central theme was: 'Family: Kinship that matters'. Unlike marriage, and the bringing up of children, family as the 'womb' of kinship in which a person grows and becomes a unique human being, was hardly dealt with theologically. The actuality of the theme was the observance, that we can all over the world speak of an 'emerging world family crisis' (Don Browning). In nowadays Europe the autonomous self, whose life is lived in social networks, is then point of reference. The family has lost many tracditional functions, such as to be a 'school of humanity'. In this volume a representative selection of the contributions on the Apeldoorn conference are published, in which the central theme of the family from several points of view is approached from biblical theology and history, in is discussed systematical-theologically en practical-theologically. German description: In 2010 wurde im niederlandischen Apeldoorn eine Konferenz theologischer Fakultaten aus Zentral- und Mitteleuropa und den Niederlanden gehalten, deren Thema die Familie war. Damit ist das Geflecht gemeint, in das wir als Menschen hineingeboren werden. Hintergrund der Konferenz war die Wahrnehmung, dass sich weltweit eine emerging world family crisis (Don Browning) abzeichnet. Im heutigen Europa ist das autonome Individuum, dessen Leben sich im sozialen und gesellschaftlichen Geflechten abspielt, in vielen Hinsichten Orientierungspunkt. Die Familie hat viele traditionelle Funktionen, wie etwa Schule der Humanitat zu sein, eingebusst. In diesem Band wird eine reprasentative Auswahl der Beitrage dieser Konferenz veroffentlicht, in der das Thema Familie von verschiedenen Blickrichtungen her ins Auge gefasst wird: biblisch-theologisch, historisch, ethisch und praktisch-theologisch.
