Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling (1775-1854) fue un filósofo alemán, considerado una de las figuras clave del idealismo alemán junto a Fichte y Hegel. Sus obras abarcan la metafísica, la filosofía de la naturaleza y la estética, explorando la relación entre el absoluto, la libertad y la naturaleza.

Entre sus escritos más destacados se encuentran Sistema del idealismo trascendental (1800), Filosofía del arte (1802-1803) y Clara.
