Our Days in the Park with Marcijona show Marci a squirrel with loads of personality and her friend a bird named Kekstas, a jay. They talk about their life in the park using photos of their activities and fun times. Friendship scenes, winter scenes, spring flora crocus's and tulips are shown in the book of photos. These beautiful photos of real life details of animals and their lives are more educationally rewarding to the reader than line art. It links the reader to the actual outdoors.Marci and Kekstas use their imaginations to brave the cold weather with thoughts of past summers and warming thoughts. They have new ideas of imaginative days being spent in Spain, Mallorca, Monaco, Paris and Amsterdam. There are simple exercises throughout the book to keep the reader thinking and interested in learning more about the lives of this adorable pair of friends. The photos of the red squirrels depicted in these oil and watercolor renderings were photographed in Vilnius, Lithuania. These watercolors allow children to see the city and life of the animals in the park. Original photos of the park and cityscapes were used to make the watercolors.
