Reseña del libro "Pause C©l¨bre (en Inglés)"
K.S. Ernst and Sheila E. Murphy have been collaborating for decades, creating together in person at their respective studios to make large visual poetry pieces, many of these now in library and other collections. Over the years, they have also created visual and textual poetry through the mail and virtually.Pause Célèbre represents the newest collaboration between K.S. Ernst and Sheila E. Murphy, presented as 35 photographed, hand-built visual poems. Cut-out words and letters mingle with keys, bones, leaves, fabric, toys, tools, and other found objects, turning language into something to handle and look at as well as read. Titles such as “Hand(made) Night(mare),” “Poise(d),” and “Earth Wear and Tear” hint at the collection’s playful ear for puns, split words, and shifting meanings.Across its vivid assemblages, the book considers time, memory, mortality, nature, identity, and home, balancing wit with a sense of fragility. Each page rewards close looking: a fragment of text or an unexpected object opens new associations, making the collection feel like a small gallery where poems take shape through both words and materials.
