What started as a spontaneous awareness of the 7 Sacraments within my Catholic Religion, turned into a wonderment about the number 7. Thoughts and questions began to form and fill my mind. My first thoughts were the basics of 7 days of creation, 7 days a week, 7 seas, 7 continents and from there, it was as if a switch was flipped! This mild curiosity of sevens turned into a roaring passion as I began to see sevens interlaced and connecting the world around us. My obsession and research of seven opened my mind to new depths. If three sixes is an indication of the fallen angel, Satan, does three 7's lift faith of our creator to the highest level as our "Supreme Being"? I've learned I am not alone. There are many 7 enthusiasts dating back to ancient times with different beliefs, laws, practices and wisdom. Seven appears in religions, in classifications about our world depicting natural, ancient and man-made wonders and most recently I saw that seven is showing up in the ways that we organize, are taught and how we learn. This has brought me to the realization that groups of seven are easily recognized, memorized and retained with greater clarity for many people. Perhaps Seven is the common thread throughout our world allowing us to function best in society while providing a peace within our souls allowing us to easily embrace, live and practice life while we are alive. I share with you now, my collection of Sevens. I hope you will ask you own questions and find your own sevens. This search is not complete; it will remain with me forever.
