The book examines the historical roots of the conflict originating thousands of years ago in the era of the Patriarch Abraham with the rift between the brothers Isaac and Ishmael, through the rise of the three monotheistic religions and to the conflict's modern day social and political origins. The author, Dr. Israel Shimony, is a renowned lawyer and an expert on arbitration. He founded ITRO, an institute for conflict resolution by Consent Arbitration headquartered in Tel Aviv, and authored the book "Arbitration - A New Horizon". He has also been instrumental in amending the Israeli Arbitration Law.
