The Cleanup (en Inglés) - Aaron Abilene

A group of strangers, hired by a real estate company to clean up an abandoned property, arrive at a sprawling, derelict house. The task seems simple enough, but the atmosphere is heavy with decay and neglect. As they begin their work, they make a chilling discovery: a bloody knife hidden in a dusty corner. The find rattles the crew, but they press on, anxious to complete the job. However, their unease turns to horror as they uncover more gruesome evidence-a severed limb in a closet, blood-soaked walls in a back room. Panic sets in as they realize the house is a serial killer’s lair.

With fear mounting, the group debates whether to flee or alert the authorities. Before they can decide, the killer returns, trapping them in the house. Chaos erupts as he picks them off one by one, turning their cleanup job into a fight for survival. Trust erodes and tensions flare as the remaining members struggle to form a plan. They attempt to barricade themselves in a room, but the killer’s intimate knowledge of the house gives him the upper hand. Each gruesome discovery now feels like a taunt, a reminder of their precarious situation.

Desperation forces the survivors to band together, even as suspicion and dread gnaw at their fragile alliance. They search for a way out, but the killer is always a step ahead, anticipating their every move. The group begins to dwindle, each encounter with the killer more brutal than the last. When they find a hidden passage, it seems like a way to safety, but it leads them deeper into the killer’s twisted world, where more bodies and cryptic messages await.

Determined to fight back, the last survivors set a trap, hoping to turn the tables on their tormentor. The killer, relentless and cunning, nearly outsmarts them again, but their desperation fuels a final, violent confrontation. In a climactic struggle, they manage to overpower him, but not without paying a heavy price. The house, now a smoldering ruin of their shattered nerves, stands as a testament to their ordeal.

In the aftermath, the few who make it out are forever changed, haunted by the memories of the carnage they witnessed. The real estate company quietly distances itself from the scandal, leaving the survivors with little more than their lives and the knowledge that they escaped a nightmare.
