This thesis examines the life and career of Lt Gen Leo Marquez. It begins with his childhood on a New Mexico farm. The thesis follows his story through college and his career in the US Air Force. Marquez began his career as a fighter pilot until forced out of the cockpit by a medical problem, at which point he became an aircraft maintenance officer. The thesis focuses on his career as a maintenance officer and logistician and the lessons he learned about airpower as he rose in the ranks.
