Macedonio Fernández (1874–1952) fue un escritor, poeta y filósofo argentino, considerado una figura clave en la literatura rioplatense del siglo XX. Su obra, marcada por el humor, la ironía y la reflexión metafísica, influyó profundamente en autores como Jorge Luis Borges, quien lo admiraba profundamente. Aunque publicó poco en vida, Macedonio dejó numerosos escritos, entre ellos Papeles de Recienvenido y Museo de la novela de la Eterna, donde cuestiona los límites de la realidad, la identidad y la narrativa. Su estilo experimental y su pensamiento innovador lo convierten en un precursor del pensamiento literario moderno en Latinoamérica. Fue también un personaje excéntrico y carismático, muy presente en los círculos intelectuales de Buenos Aires.
