Reseña del libro "The Whispering Fields (en Inglés)"

Don't whistle near the fields. And if something whistles back, don't answer. Every child in Briar Glen knows the rule. On Halloween night in 1998, ten-year-old Caleb Rusk broke it. He sat on his front porch, whistled three notes into the dark, and was gone before his best friend came back outside. The search party found his candy scattered down the steps and his glove caught on the barbed wire. The town called it a tragedy, and then it stopped calling it anything at all. Elias Crowe spent twenty-eight years trying not to remember that night. Now his mother is dead, her house has to be emptied, and three days before Halloween a thirteen-year-old named Toby Vance takes a dare, walks out to the fence at the edge of that field, and hits record. The recording comes back. Toby doesn't. Caleb's sister still blames Elias. The sheriff has found a box of files her grandfather was never supposed to keep. The crows are gathering on the wires, the scarecrows stand a little closer every time someone looks away, and in the middle of the night, from underneath the bed in Elias's childhood room, a boy's voice is asking for help. Briar Glen has always known what lives in its fields. This time, somebody is going to have to say it out loud.
