Jim Shooter (nacido el 27 de septiembre de 1951) es un guionista, editor y empresario estadounidense, ampliamente reconocido por su influyente trabajo en la industria del cómic, especialmente como editor en jefe de Marvel Comics durante una de sus épocas más exitosas. Nacido en Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Shooter comenzó a trabajar profesionalmente a los 13 años, escribiendo historias para Legion of Super-Heroes en DC Comics. Su talento precoz lo llevó a trabajar con editores como Mort Weisinger y E. Nelson Bridwell, convirtiéndose en una figura destacada en los años 60.

En 1978, fue nombrado editor en jefe de Marvel Comics. Bajo su liderazgo, la editorial vivió una era de expansión y estabilidad creativa, lanzando títulos legendarios como Secret Wars, la primera gran saga crossover de Marvel.
